The Subaru VIVIO RX-R is often forgotten among its bigger performance oriented siblings. Only marginally larger than an original Mini, this tiny car was effectively a WRX scaled to 50%. The RX-R featured a supercharged 658 CC inline four good for 63 hp, and available AWD. All while weighing only 1,543 lbs.

That brings us to the RX-RA. The RA was an upgraded motorsport version with upgraded suspension and a close-ratio gearbox. The R and RA could be seen participating in many venues, including WRC Japan and the Safari Rally. In fact, Colin McRae made his Safari Rally debut in a VIVIO. But that is a story for another day.

Instead, let's take a look at the RA in detail, courtesy of Goo-net:

From the outside, it looks like any other VIVIO, except for the pretty obvious cage.

Once inside, we can find a BRIDE racing seat, racing harness, and timing equipment.

The interior looks like a fun place to spend time, if not a little tight.

The cage, while important, seems to take up a lot of cargo room.

However, that's not what this car is meant for.

I'm sure those 83,588 kms were very gentle...

Here, you can see the Subaru trademark top mounted intercooler. It sure is cute.
